Dashing Journalist Turned Dedicated Actor Of Various Films, Sanjeev Pandey Had Been Dreaming Of Becoming Nayak Or Gayak, And Has Almost Succeeded, To Turn his Dream Into Reality. After the final round of Star-One’s singing competition show, Kisko Melega Cash (5-Lakh), all the three Judges i.e. Talat Aziz, Neena Gupta and Anil Dhaikar voted for Harshad Chauhan and Manoj Manu and Sanjeev Pandey were absolutely ignored. But with the bumper votes of the audience by SMS Sanjeev Pandey was declared the Lucky winner of 5-Lakhs, and became the choice and the heartthrob of entire India with the margin of 18000 votes.

On the Republic Day of India, 26 January 2008 the beloved mother of Sanjeev Pandey, Smt. Swaroop Devi had expired at their native place. Next day, on 27th Jan. 2008 he had to participate in the Star-One contest. He wanted to attend the last rites of his mother, at the risk of being disqualified for the Cash Contest of 5-Lakhs. His father Shri Vidyasagar Pandey, the man of vision and wisdom, advice him, that he should keep the show go on, as his mother was also wanted him to become a singer. Ultimately the timely advice of his father proved to be the worth of 5-Lakh in Rupees and Priceless in reputation of the passionate singer Sanjeev Pandey. This is the stranger than fiction story of a brave boy, who had always been dreaming of becoming a Nayak or Gayak.


Born on 15th August 1969 at Barah, Dist. Nalanda, Bihar, Sanjeev Pandey is the Art Graduate from Magdh University. To become a singer or star he left his native place in the company of a dalit youth, for the city of dreams, obviously to turn his dream into reality. lt was 15th August 1996.
He had nobody to help him. No place to sleep and no job to work. With the same dalit friend he started to work in a shoe factory, as a shoe-shine and started to sleep there. During the day he used to polish the shoes and during the night he used to dream of his shining future in Showbusiness. Thus he was making his both ends meet. Being a writer he had made up his mind to write his own fate, according to his own taste. He had decided to prove it wrong that the fate is written at the time of ones birth, by almighty, because his father had told him that the God help only those who helped themselves.


Right from his college days, he had been participating as a Bhajan singer at Akashwani, Patna and had become quite popular in this capacity. Somebody told him that the film personalities are always ready and eager to meet journalists. So, Sanjeev Pandey became film journalist, and started to interview the bigwigs of Bollywood for various newspapers and periodicals, including Balasahib Thackery of Saamna, Producer Shankar Sarin appointed him the PRO of his film Gharib Nawaz, for which Laxmikant Pyarelal were giving the musical score. Due to the goodness of the producer he was given the accommodation in his building Shankarlok, where he owns a flat today, with the helping nature of Shankar Sarin. With journalistic activities he was able to get new friends and films to show his acting talent. Some of the film in which he got the chance to work are Kiskis Ki Kismat (he also wrote the dialogue of the film, beside acting Hadh, Sab Kuch, Udaan, Sangharsh, Yug (in the role of Lal Bahadur Shastri), Hindustani, etc. He has also. given performance in some TV serials including Mahabharat Katha, Main Dilli Hoon, Aurat, Heena, and Urmila etc.


The ardent fan and follower of Mohd Rafi, Sanjeev Pandey, is more popular and more paid for his stage performance, as a singer, than screen acting.
Then, he got the prestigious assignment of working as the Writer, reporter and the Anchor for Chakra News Channel. This pave his way to enter Star-One Show and getting away with the fabulous prize of 5-Lakh, which not only proved a turning point of his life, but also it turned his dream of becoming a top singer, turn into reality. This prize was handed over to him on 16 March 2008.
To keep up his promise, to his fans, with the prize money, he brought out his maiden Music Album 'Chamatkar Kar Gayi Maiyya on19th Sept. 2009. Same night his 2nd son was born, who was named Sargam. His elder son is Swaraj. "I am going to launch my own music company, under the style of Swaraj Sargam Entertainment, shortly. My wife Smt. Sheela Pandey will be the the Chairperson of this concern. She is the woman behind my success” says Sanjeev Pandey with a broad smile on his face.
